Job Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Must be capable of: (100-400 times per shift)
- Lifting and carrying of parts (with a partner) that may weigh as much as 150 lbs. (average parts weigh 40-60 lbs.)
- Stooping, climbing, or crouching with some frequency.
- Repetitive movements (grasping, pushing, and pulling)
- Must be on your feet all day (standing or walking)
- Must be able to visually inspect parts and read hazardous labels on chemical containers.
- Will receive training to become qualified for job.
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to operate an overhead hoist/crane
- Ability to work in a team.
- Must have full knowledge of safety rules and procedures and be capable of instructing other employees.
- Visual inspection of parts for small defects, use of precision measuring instruments, and recording of data.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed (This to includes scheduled days off and up to 10-hour shifts with little notice to complete production).
Requirements/Responsibilities
- Assist in opening the plating department. Check the facility for leaks in tanks, hoses, and equipment condition.
- Maintain/facilitate communication with the previous/next shift.
- Personally put loads into plating solutions.
- Inspect for proper cleaning.
- Run through proper pre-treatment, initialing and timing the steps as listed on the batch traveler.
- Verify the initiation of plating.
- Assist Chemical Process Technician operation of plating baths throughout the day and maintain within the predetermined operating parameters.
- Monitor and assist in completing plating production batches throughout the day.
- Visually monitor solution circulation; rack functions, pumps, and plumbing during the day.
- Attend to thread masking per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Report and/or perform necessary repairs and maintenance on plating tanks, plumbing lines, and filters.
- Ensure that the forklifts are regularly serviced and any repairs necessary are carried out.
- Load and unload chemicals and supplies from trucks, as needed.
- Move and relocate materials to the warehouse storage area.
- Remove waste from the production floor to dumpsters.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
